It’s finally here!
Saturday, I received my WordPress theme from liveBooks. Now this blog matches my site the way it should. I’m still moving things around, so you may notice some random widgets and pages from time to time, but I promise it will settle down once I find a place for everything.
Along with the new theme, comes some new features that I hope will stimulate more interaction from you, which in turn, will stimulate more posts from me!
Hit the jump to find out what I’ve added!
Subscribe to the RSS Feed – Stay up to date!
If you look in the left sidebar, you’ll notice the familiar RSS icon. This runs my RSS feed through Feedburner, and makes subscribing to this blog quick and easy.
Post Ranking – Show readers what you like!
Another feature that I’ve added is post ranking. When you click and read any post, you’ll notice a star based rating system at the end. I want to know what you think about my posts. How helpful or entertaining you find each post to be. This will help me in deciding future post topics by knowing what works and what doesn’t. This is also a way to show new visitors what you find valuable here. It only takes a simple click of the mouse – one more half second of your time. By the way, if you find one of my posts worthy of sharing, please take a quick moment to share it amongst your network by using one of the many social links, also at the end of each post.
Polls and Surveys – Tell me something good!
Polls and surveys are a great way to gather input on a number of topics. I’ve been finding that I want to ask you (my readers) more and more questions, to find out how you are using certain tools, what you think about certain trends, what you had for breakfast, etc (just kidding about the breakfast
Knowing your input on certain topics will help me gather information for future posts, or maybe just answer questions that I have myself. I really encourage you to share and spread the word about any polls or surveys that I put up. Share them on Twitter, Facebook, where ever. The more people who chime in on these, the better it is for you, me, and anyone else who reads this blog. As I mentioned earlier, there are links to some popular social sites on each post, so I’ve made spreading the word easy for you.
Again, I’ve added these features to encourage more interaction with you, me, and other readers of this blog. For me, this is motivation. Knowing I have an audience out there, means knowing that I’m not just typing in vain. Knowing that you’re subscribing to the feed, ranking posts, participating in surveys, and spreading the word, means that I’ll keep pumping out the best damn posts that I possibly can.
As always, thanks for reading!
Share and Enjoy
